Vão-se os anéis ficam os dedos

I've always been fascinated by languages, sayings and what they can tell about a certain time and people.

"Better lose the saddle than the horse" could be a similar proverb to this Portuguese one, that tells something like rings are gone, fingers remain. 

It's a collage I've made in 2006 with real nails and pen.
